How long do Wild deodorants last?
Each Wild deodorant refill weighs 40 grams. According to Wild’s commonly asked questions you can expect a 40g refill to last an average of 4-6 weeks when used daily.
Why does wild deodorant not work for me?
So, you've switched to natural deodorant like Wild and noticed it's not working as you expected? No worries, you're not alone, and there's a good reason for it!
When transitioning from conventional deodorants to natural ones, your body needs some time to adjust. Traditional deodorants often contain aluminium, this is used to clogs your sweat glands so that you sweat less. That’s how most antiperspirants work.Â
Over time, your armpits become dependent on this, and when you switch to a natural option, your sweat glands "wake up" again, leading to increased perspiration for a while.
The Detox Period
This phase, known as the detox period, usually lasts a few days to a few weeks. During the detox period your body is flushing out toxins, and once it adapts, you'll notice that your natural deodorant works just as well, if not better than most antiperspirants!
Remember, natural deodorants let your skin breathe and are free from harmful chemicals. Stay patient during the transition, and you'll soon enjoy the benefits of a healthier, odour-fighting alternative.
Does Wild deodorant clog pores?
One of the great benefits of natural deodorants like Wild are that they are formulated with ingredients that don’t clog pores. In contrast, antiperspirants are formulated specifically to clog your pores so that you sweat less.
That means when you first switch to Wild deodorant you can expect a transition period where your body produces more sweat than you’re used to. This is perfectly normal, it’s your body going through an adjustment period as it releases aluminium from your pores and adapts to the new found freedom of allowing yourself to sweat again.
How long does it take to adjust to Wild deodorant?
Adjusting to wild deodorant, or any natural deodorant can take time. This varies from person to person, but most people’s bodies will adjust within 30 days. Some people will find natural deodorant works for them after only a couple of days. I have heard stories of people taking 8 weeks for their bodies to adjust to natural deodorant, so stick with it and give your body time. Before you know it you’ll love how effective natural deodorant can be.
Does Wild deodorant have aluminium?
If we take a quick look at Wild deodorant ingredients we can see that it doesn’t contain any aluminium. That’s great news! The longterm safety of Aluminium exposure is questionable, so it’s definitely best to avoid it.
Is Wild deodorant good for excessive sweating?
If you take a closer look at the Wild deodorant ingredients you’ll see it contains tapioca starch. Tapioca starch effectively absorbs moisture to help control your sweat.
Because natural deodorants don’t contain Aluminium however, they typically don’t stop excessive sweating to the same extent as a strong antiperspirant would.
Remember though, sweating is a normal and healthy bodily function. You may find that once you make the switch to natural deodorant and you give your body time to adjust your sweat won’t smell anymore, and you may become more comfortable with the idea of allowing your body to sweat as it should.
Is Wild good for sensitive skin?
Wild’s standard deodorant does contain sodium bicarbonate. In high amounts this can lead to redness and irritation in people with sensitive skin.
If this is an issue for you Wild do offer a sensitive deodorant that is bicarb free. Wild sensitive deodorant utilises active ingredients such as Triethyl Citrate, Magnesium Hydroxide and Zinc Ricinoleate to inhibit body odour causing bacteria and absorb odour.
You might find that you can tolerate natural deodorants with bicarb if it contains small amounts or is formulated with a less alkaline Ph. So don’t give up on all deodorants with bicarb unless you’re extremely sensitive!
Does wild deodorant ship to Australia?
Yes! Even though Wild are a UK based company they do ship their products to Australia. At the time of writing shipping to Australia cost $7.99.
Does Wild leave white marks?
Natural deodorants like Wild have the potential to leave white marks. If we take a dive into Wild deodorant reviews we’ll find that some people have mentioned white marks on black clothing. Having said that, it doesn’t seem to be an issue a lot of Wild users are complaining about.
The reason why most natural deodorants can leave white marks is because the ingredients, such as sodium bicarbonate and Tapioca Starch are white powders. Once applied to your armpits small amounts can rub off on your clothes, resulting in white marks.
If you’re experiencing this problem it may simply be because you’re applying it too thickly. Try using just a thin swipe and see how that works for you.
Does Wild stop you sweating?
Because Wild isn’t an antiperspirant I wouldn't expect it to stop you sweating. But that’s actually a good thing! Your body is designed to sweat. Clogging your pores with Aluminium based antiperspirant is the only effective way to actually stop sweating.
While Wild may not stop you from sweating, it does contain ingredients such as tapioca starch to absorb your sweat. This will help keep you feeling dry.
How do you apply Wild deodorant?
Applying Wild deodorant is simple. Twist the base until a few millimetres of deodorant is revealed. Then it’s simply a matter of gently swiping it under each armpit. Wild deodorant is a soft bar, and once applied will absorb into your skin.
How much Wild deodorant should you use?
Apply a thin layer under each armpit. A little goes a long way, and applying too much will increase the chances of white marks on your clothes. So it’s best to start with a small amount and apply more if necessary.
When switching to a new natural deodorant it may take a little experimentation to find the right amount for your body. But with a little trial and error you’ll get your deodorant routine dialled in no time.
Does Wild deodorant contain baking soda?
The standard variety of Wild does contain sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). They do offer a bicarb free variety incase you’re sensitive to bicarb. Look for the ‘sensitive’ deodorant if you would like to avoid bicarb.
Is Wild deodorant sustainable?
Once of the great things about Wild deodorant is that they are committed to sustainability. Their deodorant refills use bamboo pulp packaging that can be composted at home.
This reduces single use plastic and helps reduce landfill.
Is Wild deodorant cruelty free?
Yes! Wild deodorant is cruelty free. They don’t test on animals and their deodorant does not contain any animal derived ingredients. So go ahead and stop that BO knowing you’re not harming animals in the process.
Is Wild deodorant vegan?
Yes! None of the ingredients in Wild deodorant are animal derived. This makes it suitable for vegans and those who prefer to stay away from animal based products.Â
Does Wild deodorant go off?
Wild deodorant is formulated to have a shelf life of 12 months. You may find that natural products may have a shorter shelf life than their chemical laden counterparts. This is due to the fact many natural products don’t contain chemical preservatives and emulsifiers.
Storing natural deodorant in a dry, cool place, out of direct sunlight will help keep your deodorant fresh for longer.
